Forstner Photography Takes on Disney – Part I

Disney World is so wonderful and magical – whether you’re going as and adult or a child, for pleasure or work. We went as our big family vacation in 2014 with with my brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and their two kiddos. We had an absolute blast experiencing the park through the eyes of the kids, but also for our first time together as a married couple!

We left from Virginia Beach on Christmas Day night around 830 with a van full. 4 adults, 2 kids, and countless suitcases, waters, snacks, and excitement to the brim sure makes for a full load! 1 mid-trip stop and some 10 hours later, we had made it to Orlando.

We stopped at Panera to refuel and wound up right by ¬†Orlando’s Mall at Millennia. You can’t stop by a mega mall the day after Christmas without checking it out. If you haven’t been there, it is a heck of a mall! So many stores, so open…and they even have orange trees inside the mall!! It was really something else :-)

After the mall, we headed over to the Super Target for some forgotten items….then off we went to Disney World! Since we couldn’t check into the hotel so early, we headed over to Downtown Disney. We had a delicious lunch at T-Rex Cafe, were wowed at the Lego Store, made our own versions of Mr. Potato Head, found our annual Christmas ornament at Disney Days of Christmas, and were enthralled with our niece’s transformation into Cinderella at Bippity, Boppity, Boutique.

By the time it started to get dark, we were worn out! The excitement was still high and the anticipation for our first park visit the next day was so much. In addition to the energy we all felt, the lack of sleep was catching up with the adults very quickly. We ended our first day quite early and headed back to the hotel to start winding down.

Here a few pictures from our first day! Enjoy and check back to see how we did on Days 2-5!
