Congratulations, Sarah and Gendry!
This sweet couple was referred to me by one of my other 2015 brides! Referrals are an awesome way for me to connect with new clients and know that I have served previous clients well This celebration was a small, intimate wedding at Sarah’s parents home. My first meeting with the couple was about a week before Christmas. Their home was GORGEOUS! When I first walked into their beautiful Highlands home in Chesterfield, VA, I was in awe of the shear gorgeousness. The Christmas tree was up and everything was amazing. Sarah was so sweet – glowing like every bride does before their wedding. Gendry was adorable – seriously, there is no other word to describe him. He moved to the US in October from the Dominican Republic and his English was rusty. Despite my inability to communicate via words with him, I could clearly see the love and happiness he had in his heart to marry Sarah. They were finally ending their long distance love with their wedding.
Sarah and I emailed and texted throughout the next few weeks ironing out last minute details – who was needed for those important family pictures, her excitement for her big day, and of course she wished us happy travels during our Disney adventures. (I’m telling you! She is just as sweet as can be!)
Fast forward to their big day – January 3. It was a chilly day and a bit drizzly. The weather didn’t stop the celebration from being joyous and festive! The wedding was infused with hints of the holiday season – red accents on Sarah’s dress and in her jewelry, red and white ribbons adorning the staircase garland, a gorgeous homemade red and white bouquet, and of course the beautiful white iced cake atop a a red tablecloth. While I love summer and all the gorgeous colors it has to offer, I think that I may just enjoy weddings near Christmas just as much! Congratulations again you two! Wishing you a marriage of love, friendship, and many fun adventures!
