I was looking for a way to give back to the community, especially to those who have served our country and risked their lives to allow us our freedoms. As I was contemplating this, I reached out to two fine ladies that I knew were part of a service member family. In doing so, I also asked them to let me know if there was anyone else they knew that would be interested in having their photos taken as a tribute to them. This is where Allison comes in.
She messaged me almost immediately after getting the request from a mutual friend. She was – from her messages – bubbly and super excited. She was pretty much everything you hoped for when offering a service to someone else. It didn’t take long for her to let me know she wanted to schedule a time as soon as possible since her boyfriend was getting ready to deploy. We set it up for June 8…that was the easy part!
Then came determining location. There are so many in the area depending on what kind of photos someone is looking for. In order to see what she wanted, I sent her the Facebook page and shared with her a few of the images I have captured. She was quick to let me know she absolutely loved the sunset pictures and wanted to have their photo shoot at Sunday Park in Midlothian.
I met up with them and captured these images of this young couple and enjoyed spending time with them. I found out that Aaron’s next deployment will be a quick 3 weeks compared to the 10 month deployment he had. It was truly an honor to be able to give back – even though this is nothing compared to how much Aaron risks and gives to all of us – to Aaron and Allison.
If you or anyone you know is active duty or retired military and interested in a free family photo shoot, please pass along my Facebook page or share my website with them. I would be truly honored to honor them!
