I met Courtney nearly 12 years ago as a sophomore in college. She was a tall, happy, fun loving person who never had anything less than a smile on her face. I recall how intriguing she was when I first met her. She had an uncanny love for animals and it was something impressive to be able to see.
She had this sweet puppy – Lucy – who used to come to the “lounge” and study with us. Lucy would walk through the halls and visit the offices while we had our noses stuck in books. Courtney had trained her to do tricks and Lucy did them amazingly well. My favorite was when she played dead.
In addition to her love for puppies, Courtney also has a love for horses. She owns a beautiful horse named Orion. He is 16 years old and has been with Courtney for most of them. This past Saturday, I was able to watch her compete with him for the 2nd time in 2 weeks. What made it so amazing was that they had not competed for nearly 6 years.
Thank you, Courtney, for letting me be a part of this competition. I truly enjoyed myself and learned so much!
